You can invest in real estate in one of 2 ways. You can either do it the hard way or the simple way. Which one will you choose? Both ways work well to create capital gain and/or cash flow, it’s just that the simple way is quicker and well….. a lot simpler. The only way you could make a mistake is to do nothing at all. Please don’t do that.
So, let’s make real estate investing simple shall we? How do we do that? Just count to 3.
1. Choose a goal – do you want 1 investment property or 10?
2. Choose a time frame – 1 year or 10 years?
3. Make a simple plan and take some action.
Step 3 is where most people stop. Why? I’ve been to a lot of seminars and I’ve purchased lots of courses to assist me in my investment journey. They’ve all been incredibly valuable in one way or another but what I have found is that the seminar is the easy part. Hint: Step 1&2 are easy but all 3 steps are simple. Easy and simple are two different things.
There’s work to do after the seminar isn’t there? It’s very easy to just do the learning. At the seminars you are super keen to get started and then you find out that you have a question that you don’t know how to answer and the momentum stops. Very few people take action on what they’ve paid to learn about. That’s really sad for me when I hear that, because people get stuck before completing the first few steps. Doing means having.
You start thinking, “Well, that person was up on the stage, I’ll shoot an email off to the company and I may get a reply. I’ve got a question right here, right now, on a topic, who can answer it for me? I’d really like somebody not just to answer my question, but to work with me through this stage, so that I can clearly see what I need to do next or what I’m doing wrong, or how to get it right and then move on.”
It’s getting started on the planning and taking action that is the hardest part but it is simple. Make a plan to do one thing that will move you closer to your goal and then complete it and then make another simple plan. Once you can get some experience and momentum, once it clicks for you, then you’re off and running and doing the next step. I’m very keen to work with people that have done a course themselves but have let something stop them from reaching their dreams for one reason or another. People who are ready to take action. People who are serious about investing in real estate simply.
Don’t let what’s happened or not happened in the past stop you from making it happen. You simply need to get a coach in your corner and get going. If your life has gone back to what it was before the course, you should know that there’s so much opportunity for you to move forward and obtain your own dreams and goals if you are prepared to make a simple plan and take action.
