Have you heard the saying that money is just an idea backed by confidence? When I first heard it, I wasn’t really quite sure what was meant by it until I heard a simple explanation. What’s the difference between a $5 note and a $50 note? Colour! Because the notes are only a piece of paper that we call money. The fact that we can use them as $50 or $5 is simply because we all agree in confidence on the idea. Apart from that, it’s just a piece of paper.
Now using my old mate Richard Branson as an example, if Richard said to us all who wants to invest $50 in my new company? Would anyone hesitate for too long before saying YES? I know I wouldn’t. I don’t even know what the company is yet, so why would I be willing to throw my hard earned cash into something I know very little about? Because I can have confidence in whatever the idea is that this very successful businessman has to offer is a pretty safe bet. Can you see how the money would just flow to that idea?
Can you also see how important it is to build confidence in yourself and your ideas? That’s when the money starts flowing to you. The hardest part is getting started. Why? Because we allow fear to rob us of all that we are meant to be.
